Pearl Jam is back!!!
It is the eights effort of the band since 1991. The album is planned to release in May, 2006. Pearl Jam announced that it will be something interesting and unusual. The musicians set the date of the release on 2nd May 2006. It will be the 8th band album! The previous one was released in 2002. As the gap between the albums is rather big we expect it to be worth listening.
The artists believe in their new work. Stone Gossard, the band’s guitarist said:
“It feels like a new opportunity for us. We’re proud of the songs, and we think they have a chance to do a little better commercially.” He also says that it won’t be anything revolutionary and extraordinary in the album just “A couple of rock songs, a couple of ballads – it’s not rocket science”.
The new thing is that a few song’s lyrics are written by Mike McGready and Some by Stone Gossard (“Parachutes”, “Life Wasted”) The first single “World Wide Suicide” is going to be released on the radio on March 8th. The Internet guests will get an opportunity to download this song on the band’s official site on the same day! The band is launching the world tour to support their new album in spring 2006. Further details will be announced a little bit later.
