Traditional Mail: Americans Prefer Hard Copy Mail
People prefer reading letters, especially other’s ones. Recently was proved that among activities that Americans enjoy doing every day is reading their mail. And it’s strange but the majority like that consumer activity more than talking on the phone, reading books and newspapers, reviewing their e-mail and watching TV. From generation to generation this habit had been inculcated in people a taste for writing and reading traditional mail.
Apparently, guys and girls feel a special scent of a person, i.e. this kind of physical mail attains emotional attachment. No wonder, that a majority of wired people (with access to e-mail), keep momentos such as family photographs or birthday cards delivered by the postal system, while only a small fraction saved digital photos or e-mail letters. Is it easy-to-preserve?
The U.S. Postal Service is the most trusted institutuion in America, surpassing the police department (46%), the school system (38%), Internet providers (38%), the phone company (33%), the local media (newspapers, TV and radio 26%) and finally, the government (20%).
Why do people like or hate writing letters by hand on paper? IMHO I need a special attitide of mind to write a message to someone. I’d rather use a chat talking.
Participants from all age groups remained committed to dependable, stalwart letter mail, particularly in light of the Internet’s tendency towards viral attacks.
Anyway, you are to decide what mail to choose.
