I can bet some of you out there in Rockdrift readership land opted for a rubber stamping somehow or other. Surely, I’m not talking about commercial use, but decorative rubber stamps that have become fashionable in the USA to a greater degree than in Europe.

Stamping is an art in which some type of ink made of dye or pigment is applied to an image or pattern that has been carved, molded onto a sheet of rubber.
The rubber is often mounted onto a more stable object such as a wood or an acrylic block to produce a more solid instrument. These stamps may be made from wood, metal, glass, plastic and rock.

General use of stamps is intended for the signatures on official documents, decorating objects and those used as children’s toys. And it must be noted that rubber stamps as an art form is widely used in the US and practically unknown in Europe.

There are many web-sites offering a wide array of rubber stamps on sale on the web. You can come across various stamps devoted to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Animals, Cats, Birds, Sports, etc.
